なんだかんだ言っても東大生の親の年収は一千万円近いのか、うらやましい限りだ。僕の両親の年収は二人合わせても彼らの半分にも届かない、授業料が免除される理由がよく分かる。それでも、実家がそこそこ貧乏だったことには感謝している。自分で学費を稼ぎながら勉強することで、学問の大切さを噛み締めてこれた気がする。それに、多種多様な仕事を通して、多くの人に出会えて刺激を受けることもできたし、自分の知らない世界を垣間見ることもできた。自分を成長させる大きな要素としてアルバイトは位置づけるられる。ちなみに、僕が今までやってきたバイトは、こんな感じだ。引越、事務所移転、内装、荷物搬入・搬出、道路工事、家庭教師、塾講師、薬剤師、プログラミング、ベンチャー、もうさすがに科学に集中したい。そのような社会的立場にいられるのかは未知数だけれど…。
